Final Draft

December 6, 2009 at 12:47 am (Uncategorized) (, )

Now that we have only two one more class before our final draft of our paper is due, I feel confident that we are much better writers then when we started in the beginning of the year. This semester flew by and I am proud to call myself a student of professor Ludeker. I would also like to thank her for all the help she has given me and how grateful I am to have had her as a teacher. I hope everyone does will on their papers and good luck next semester.

Audience

November 19, 2009 at 2:16 am (Uncategorized) (, )

My topic for our paper is epilepsy and whether or not drugs is the right treatment option for it. I’m trying to decide who my audience should be:
I originally wanted it to be geared toward families that had no link to anyone with epilepsy, so they could, for the most part, have an unbiased perspective on the issue.
Now I kind of want to reach an audience of people who are connected to he disease, because i believe the information I’m providing would be a lot of help.
I can’t decide which audience would be more greatly affected by it. And I know i can’t use both because its too broad. So any advice on who to choose?

Final Draft

November 19, 2009 at 2:05 am (Uncategorized) (, )

It seems like just yesterday that we all walked into class back in September for the first time. Now we have finally started our final paper. It is scary how fast the time went. All the papers we have been doing all year fit into our final draft and make it so much stronger then it would have been at the beginning. I feel we are all so much better writers then we were when we first arrived thanks to Professor Ludeker. Let’s hope our papers show this.

Thursday class

November 6, 2009 at 5:15 pm (Uncategorized) (, )

I liked that we got to go over our papers in class on Thursday. Reviewing the sources and writing quotes on the board helped me make my paper just that much stronger. I am confident that all of our papers will be really good when we hand them in on Tuesday.

writing a conclusion

November 6, 2009 at 5:11 pm (Uncategorized) (, , )

So I have written my whole paper and I am pretty proud of my work. However, the conclusion seems weak to me. I feel like my conclusion is just my first paragraph again. Does anyone have any suggestion to make a stronger ending?

Peer review

Writing a paper is one thing. Having a teacher review it is another. But i really like the fact that my class mates get to look over my work as well. It gives me a chance to see where everyone else is coming from and how my work translates to other people

Reading from the SAW

October 21, 2009 at 1:32 am (Uncategorized) (, )

Upon reading part of our assignment this week, I really liked how the book gave locations to find research. Things like google, yahoo, and Lycos are all search engines, when used properly, can help you along nicely with your paper. Also, things like the library or our professor (obviously) were brought up. Asking people for help can be intimidating, but they really know the best way to find research, without writing the paper for you.

I am having a lot of problems with finding the things required for making an MLA citation, especially with websites. The websites I am using are legitamite medical websites, but the authors of the articles I need are missing. Any help with finding them would be greatly appreciated.
