Blog Compromise Guildines (for everyone)

December 10, 2009 at 3:59 pm (Uncategorized) (, , )

I’ve decided to make the compromise on the blog assignment  clear for everyone.

If you haven’t made the required posts, I will allow you to complete up to ten COMMENTS on other people’s posts/comments (from throughout the semester). This will allow you to get at least half of the points for that assignment. If you’ve already posted something, I’ll add those 10 new comments to whatever you have. For example, if you currently have 4 entries, you can get up to 14 points for the grade. If you have all 20 posts, I’ll add bonus points to your final score–one for each additional comment you make.

I’ll allow you to have until midnight on Thursday of next week, which is December 17. Anything posted after that, while appreciated, will not be counted towards your grade.

Here is what I expect to see. I will be VERY strict in my interpretation.

Comments must engage with the other writer’s idea. Critique them, agree & support them, etc. Use what you’ve learned over the semester.

Comments must be related to the course material, readings, assignments, papers, etc.

Comments should be approximately one full paragraph or more.

Some ideas for what you may wish to discuss may include (but are not limited to) answers to the following:
What was the outcome of your project (from that time of the semester). What would you do differently if you could? Why?

What did you learn during that project? What do you know now that you didn’t know then? Be specific.

What did you learn that applied to projects that came afterward? Be specific.

What did you take from the reading that was meaningful?

Do you approach writing any differently than you did before? If so, why? If not, why not?

As always, if you have questions, please ask.
